Josh takes pictures at Impact events. He shares them on his webspace.

For Praise Night, Impact is putting on a skit. We had a practice session tonight. The skit is based on the movie It's A Beautiful Life.

John Yim is allergic to cameras or something, so the best we can do is sneak shots of the back of his head.

Erik is the director, he did a great job keeping people in line and keeping the mood light.

I baked cookies today.

I made eggpland and steamed buns for dinner tonight.

Rusty pipes are old school.

The ultra-modern International Institute is connected ad hoc to the school of Education, and the bathrooms are old school.

The Ann Arbor bike lane stencil has a funny shaped head.

For dinner tonight, I had chili over hot dogs on wheat bread, and a small salad (lettuce, tomatos, vinaigrette).

We've got three cats, and this is my least favorite. I really, don't like cats.

This Saturday we made lunch for our language exchange partners: spinach salad with vinaigrette dressing, chili dogs, cornbread, and finger jello and creme puffs for dessert. True American meal! I spent a lot of time stirring the chili.

Helena took charge of the ingredients for the chili and for the jello dessert, which was a big hit.

Weidong seemed to really enjoy the cornbread, which we made with a mix and real corn.

The State Theater is Ann Arbor's second run art house theater.

I eat at Potbelly like, 3 or 4 times a week. Different sandwiches, open faced, sit upstairs and take notes.

Thanks Helena for the ride and the advice!

I made Chinese dumplings for dinner tonight.

But not just any old dumplings, these you boil for a few minutes, then fry them in a pan with veggie oil, cooked to a nice crisp.

They came out a little burnt, not bad for my first time. With soy sauce, sesame oil and an apple, it was a good dinner.

When it gets cold and snowy, the bus is a life saver.

It was warm for a few days, and then it got cold again. And snowed.

Prof Sung is strict but fun.

It's hard to remember the names of the people in Chinese class because, 1) we don't talk much to start with, and 2) we all use Chinese names.

Today in language exchange we went over Weidong and Xingmei's 3 minute presentations.

Helena and Xingmei are very photogenic.

Xingmei laughed when we picked through Weidong's pronunciation... only she didn't realize that she was next.

Sometimes I get in an artsy fartsy mood and take pictures of trash cans because I think it looks "cool". Pretentions aside, I took a picture of three trash cans for different recyclables, one tall, one short, adn one just right.

The International Institute takes up half of the School of Social Work Building, and the signage indicates this.

Our microwave caught on fire and stunk up the house, so Dina hired this big old machine to clean out the air. I am resorting to Jon Secada at full volume to cover the sound.

Sunny day today.

The fishbowl is a busy place just before lunch.

After CCS 502 we like to stand around and chat.

CCS 502 is lead by professors Ning Qiang, art history, and Lydia Liu, comparative literature.

Dan left his bag on the table, so I snapped a quick pic.

Dan counters with witty reparte.

Byers and Ben are a couple of handsome guys.
